Well, we have good news and bad news. Fortunately we have more good news than bad news. First, the bad news: Our friends on Why Knot IV that wanted to do the Rickshaw Run with us have had a change of plans. They are taking flying lessons instead. Now instead of just pouring money into keeping a boat afloat, they might also pour money into a plane. After all, one can never have too much maintenance work to do, right? Riiiight.
Anyway, we wish them well in this endeavor and hope to see them down island next season. The good news is that Dave and I are still fully committed and can’t wait to go! We have less than two weeks to turn in our paint job design and we haven’t even started on it! Yikes!
More good news is that we have already had several friends and family members donate to our chosen charities, getting us that much closer to being able to enter the run. We want to thank and give a big shout out to John and Angela Rowland, Patricia Waldock (thanks moms!), Stephen Jan, Eva Morrison, Aunt Karen and Uncle Jim Trennepohl, and Elisabeth VanHeeringen. Thank you so much! Donations will be accepted until August 20, 2015, but the Rickshaw Run begins on August 5. Links to donate will remain in the right sidebar on our blog site. But for posterity’s sake to donate to Cool Earth click here or to donate to the Tibet Girls’ School click here. Thank you again to all our readers and supporters. It should be quite a ride!
