After coming down with the flu two weeks ago, my ears are still all messed up. Dave took me to a walk-in clinic on Marco Island, where a doctor prescribed some medicated ear drops with an antibiotic in it. I have been applying them for three days now and still no change, but the instructions say to take them for seven days. I’m really hoping they fix the problem!
In the meantime, mom has been jumping through loops trying to get Gizmo’s medications and clearance to fly. Finally, they boarded Virgin America today and made it to Ft. Lauderdale airport. This is likely the last home Gizmo will ever have to move to, so we are hoping he adjusts well to life on the water. Mom is going to be part of the Livin’ Life crew for a month or more, joining us on our first journey out of the United States by boat. Sadly, Dave’s parents, John and Angie, are leaving us on Wednesday and heading back to freezing temperatures in Baltimore. We are hoping to sail to Key West on Thursday, but the reports are calling for over 30 knots of wind. So we will wait and see.
